ABOUT 

Behind the acronym D. A. D. stands Mariam, a design maven specialized in mid-century modern up to the end of the 1990s, with a slight obsession for the plastic utopias of the 1960s and 70’s.

What I enjoy about designer pieces is that they can influence our daily lives and stimulate our creativity. They can be beautiful, funny, fascinating, in any way they do not leave us indifferent. These objects acquire value over time and, when you understand it well enough it is a long-term investment.

It all started in 2010 with an internship at Via Antica, a huge vintage marketplace in Brussels. This period was soon followed by two personal projects, I.M.L.F. and 18 m2, two large showcases that popped up in the heart of the European capital. I realized soon enough that by opening a street front store I was restricting my possibilities and yet there was something missing in the European design market.

This is how D.A.D. was born.

It aims to be the website, for both private and professional buyers, I wish I'd known about when I started out in the design world. By countering the marketplaces and auction houses that persue speculation, I intend to help you find that long desired dream object, to be your ally in dealing with the maze of the vintage market, to allow you to acquire an object at the fair price, so that treasure hunting remains a pleasure and a satisfaction.
